Do you love John Wick? Do you love anime? If you answered "yes" to both questions, then you'll be delighted to know that there is something spectacular heading your way; something that combines two of your favorite things.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, a prequel anime title is on the way very soon. The title will follow John Wick's life before he became the deadly assassin we know and love today. It will be full of action, suspense, and, most importantly, so many fight scenes that it makes your head spin. What's more, Keanu Reeves, the talented actor behind John Wick, will also assist in bringing this project to life.

Having all this in mind, this is a title we figure you want to hear way more about. Fortunately, we have all the answers you may have been looking for!

John Wick director gives teases the "fun" to come

Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick universe, shares his hopes for the upcoming anime title as well as what he wants fans to anticipate. Stahelski shares that the limits of what John Wick can do in the anime know no bounds since all the stuns that Keanu Reeves may not have been able to do can be accomplished with animation. For this reason, the anime is expected to go above and beyond what you think you know about John Wick's capabilities.

"We can be a little bit more crazy and nutty in the anime, and we can be a lot more explicit in our storytelling and world building on the TV show," Stahelski expressed to THR. "So those are exciting to us without seeming repetitive, and that’s where we’re putting our energies right now."

In addition to more mature scenes and advanced stunts, the director shares that this isn't going to be one of those prequels that have a far more serious tone for the sake of the lore. Rather, it's one that will be a lot of fun since it doesn't have to be boggled down by the practical.

"It’s meant to be fun," Stahelski added. "Some of the prequels and sequels that you see in other franchises, we’re not meant to be built that way. We just want to have fun. We want to have fun with the Wick world, but we’ve already capped it on one end , so let’s go back and use a different medium."

We have much to anticipate. Still, there are many unknowns regarding the anime, including (but not limited to) the release date, animation studio, and many more. Hopefully, we can answer those questions much sooner rather than later. Until then, stay tuned for more updates!
