@NosaDianaJoel Balkovec
From Ottawa, Canada Joel Balkovec is a contributor to Anime Away. He's been watching anime since the first episodes of Sailor Moon came to North America in the early 90s. He turned anime into a career in 2020 when he wrote his first review. Since 2023, he's been focusing on breaking anime industry news. His work has also been featured on Screen Rant, the Realmgard blog and student journals from Carleton University and Algonquin College. He has a particular interest in vintage anime from the 70s through 2000s and loves to raise awareness of underrated classics like Captain Harlock, Lodoss War and Mononoke. In his free time, he writes creatively and hones his miniature painting skills.

About FanSided
The idea of FanSided was born in 2007, when two brothers felt that their favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs, was being under-covered by the mainstream media. Taking matters into their own hands, they launched Arrowhead Addict, a move that would spawn the creation of FanSided in 2009, a network of over 300+ fan-powered unique sports, entertainment and lifestyle sites dedicated to team-specific, sport-specific, genre-specific, and fanbase-specific coverage. From sports, movies and TV to lifestyle and tech, FanSided has you covered.
