Following last week's announcement from Crunchyroll of the release of a key visual for this spring's AnimeJapan 2025 convention, the convention's official website has revealed the full breakdown of the schedule of events occurring across four stages for the two days of the convention (March 22 and 23, 2025) which are open to the public — the final two days of the convention function as an industry-exclusive exhibition.
It was also revealed in the same announcement that idol group Sakurazaka46 would be serving as the convention's official ambassadors to help promote and publicize the event, especially to international fans. The group recorded a special message on YouTube, though the video is currently only available in Japanese.
The key visual shared by Crunchyroll was originally posted by the AnimeJapan X (formerly Twitter) account, and can be viewed below:

AnimeJapan was first held in 2014, following the merger of two previous conventions — the Tokyo International Anime Fair and the Anime Contents Expo — and has gone on to become one of the biggest and most important anime conventions . With the exception of the 2020 event, which was held online due to the COVID pandemic, every AnimeJapan convention has taken place at Tokyo Big Sight, one of the largest exhibition centers in Japan. The event combines a publicly accessible covention with an industry trade show aimed at individuals and companies working in the anime industry.
We'll be closely following the news coming out of AnimeJapan this March, so check back with the Anime Away team as we report on some of the biggest anime news for 2025 and beyond.
