Despite these feelings of inferiority, Jaewoo keeps in touch with Han Nari often. She asks him when he's coming back, and comments that they talk so often on the phone that he might as well live together with her.
One day when Jaewoo is heading home from university, he encounters her outside campus. She's just come from work and came by because she wanted to see Jaewoo. She takes his hand and brings it to her cheek, kissing it tenderly as she asks whether Jaewoo has anything to say to her. Jaewoo stammers for a bit before saying that he does in fact have something to tell her.
We cut to a café where Jaewoo and Nari are sitting silently. Jaewoo is struggling to find the courage to say what he wants to say, while Nari is looking at him expectantly. Jaewoo does eventually manage to say that he likes her and wants her to go out with him, but Nari (smiling a bit to herself over how cute Jaewoo is being) comments that he doesn't sound confident at all.
She states that she already belongs to him and asks him what he's worried about. Jaewoo steels his resolve and repeats his confession, but more confidently this time. He does trail off a bit at the end, as he says that he hopes he won't be an embarrassment to her.
This seems to please Nari, who gives him a passionate kiss in full view of everyone else in the café while stating outright that she likes him back. She then says that they should continue back home.
