Code Geass celebrates the December 5 birthday of the anime series's main character with an annual screening event. We've come out of the 2024 event with preliminary announcements about upcoming productions in the series, as reported by Crunchyroll. Although specific details about some of these productions are still sparse, several concrete plans for the franchise in the near future have been revealed. Notably, Code Geass celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026.
In addition to the first reports of as-yet unspecified multiple projects, it was also announced at the annual event that all 13 Code Geass movies will be screened continuously at some point in the future, though the exact logistical details of how this will work are still unknown. It was also announced that the mobile game Code Geass: Lost stories will receive new storyline content based on the 2024 spinoff series Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture.
These announcements have been shared by the official Code Geass production team's X (formerly Twitter) page, in Japanese:
There's lots of Code Geass content for fans to stream
Produced by venerable Gundam studio Sunrise — now formally known as Bandai Namco Filmworks, though still widely doing known under its previous name, the original Code Geass anime debuted in 2006 and ran for two seasons, known as Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. Both anime seasons are streaming on Crunchyroll.
In addition to the two seasons of the original anime, Crunchyroll is also the streaming home of the Code Geass movies including the compilations Lelouch of the Rebellion I, II and III and the sequel Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection. The most recent entry in the franchise, Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture is streaming on Hulu and on Disney Plus under the Star banner in those international regions where Hulu is unavailable.
However, the Code Geass spinoff Akito the Exiled is not currently available to stream. The OVA series was one of the anime hosted on Funimation that was not migrated from the old platform after Funimation was merged into Crunchyroll and the bulk of its library was rolled into the Crunchyroll platform.
