One-hitter quitters on Netflix are never fun. One moment you're watching what is arguably the best show you've watched all year and, in the next, it's over. This incredibly frustrating feeling would naturally be resolved with another season, however, for some Netflix shows, especially Netflix anime, another season is just not in the cards.

Be it a one-and-done shojo romance anime that had our hearts fluttering at every moment or a sci-fi adventure show that felt like a rush, there is something in every genre that sadly only has one season. Even so, across the board, these three anime shows are the Netflix titles most deserving of a new installment.

Netflix anime that should return

While some anime don't necessarily need a second season since they did a great job telling the story in the first, there are a handful that we believe could go on forever. Not only because of the subject matter at hand but because the characters and world-building are so interesting that it would certainly entertain us for a long time.

Without further ado, here are three amazing Netflix anime we would like to see come back!

Blue Period

Blue Period taught us all about the importance of finding something new that empowers you to take on the day with a smile on your face. It forced us to recognize when something in our lives isn't quite working anymore and compelled us to do something about it.

Yaguchi, the protagonist of the anime, struggled with his bland everyday life. But one fateful day, he decided to take a crack out of drawing and became someone who dedicated his life to getting better at his art each day. What helped his drive was being surrounded by like-minded people who pushed him to be the best version of himself that he could be. Above all, though, his passion is what truly rang through because once he set his sights on something, he made sure to go out and get it.

A new season will allow us to continue to see Yaguchi grow and see how much he learns. We want to see his highest of highs and his lowest of lows. Why? Because if we were inspired by Yaguchi once, we can definitely be inspired again.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners took the anime world by storm when it was first released. People were huge fans of the show's ability to transport them into a place full of cool scientific advancements that could change the body for the better...and for the worse. Above all, fans appreciated the show's powerful story that kept them on the edges of their seats.

David was born into a life where he had to fight harder than others to make a name for himself. Starting from the bottom with nothing, he found his answers for prosperity in technological adjustments that allowed him to be stronger, faster, and, most importantly, better. But, as he soon learned, everything comes with a price.

Although David's story has ended, we're sure there are many others like him out there. Perhaps the second season of this show can bring forth a new story of a new character or maybe even just a new perspective on a character that's been with us since the very start. We're fine with anything!

Kotaro Lives Alone

Kotaro Lives Alone is a heartbreaking anime that highlights the fact that not all children have a very happy childhood. Rather than get to read bedtime stories or play with toys, some kids have it very rough and have to do things like tuck themselves into bed or self-soothe whenever they are hurt or need someone to keep them company. It's a sad truth and this anime certainly brings some awareness to this huge issue.

Kotaro is a very small boy who does everything by himself. He cooks, he cleans, and he even buys himself groceries. Yet, the most depressing of all these things is that, as the title implies, he lives all by himself. No parents, no siblings, and no friends. But one day, his fate turns around for the better and he meets people who will readily give him the world.

A new season can show us more of Kotaro and his life with his new friends, especially since there are tons of new memories they can make together. Also, it would be nice to see more of Kotaro growing up to be the brave man we know he's destined to be.

Hopefully, Netflix hears our cry, taking this as an initiative to renew these Netflix anime titles (along with a few others) for a new season. As we wait, be sure to head to the streaming service to check out Blue Period, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and Kotaro Lives Alone.

One Netflix anime not to skip. One of the best anime shows on Netflix is one you're probably not watching. dark. Next
