Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War episode 22 release date and time

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War will again continue this weekend with its upcoming episode of the final arc. The episode was delayed a week after it was initially supposed to be released on September 2, 2023. Last week, a recap episode the the previous 8 installments of part 2 of Bleach: TYBW was aired as part of the release schedule. The recent episode ended with Ichigo discovering the Uryu has joined the Quincies as they headed for the Soul King.

The next episode will cover the ongoing Quincy war on the soul society as Ichigo wrestles with Ichigo joining the Quincies. Yhwach true objective is the Soul King and he heads towards the royal palace which will also include a clash with Squad Zero.

When does Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War episode 22 release?

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War episode 22 is titled "Marching out the Zombies” and is expected to be released on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 PM in Japan. It is also being released on Hulu and on Disney Plus in the U.S. Additionally, the English dubbed version will be released on Hulu as well, four weeks after the Japanese dubbed version.

What happened last in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War ?

In the previous episode, after Kenpachi defeated Gremmy, he searches for Yachiru. Lieutenant Yachiru's robe has been discarded and Kenpachi orders his crew to find her and then he is attacked by a group of Sternritters. The confrontations between the Bambietta Sternritters results in Kenpachi almost at the brink of defeat.

The main character then sets in at this point as Ichigo has arrived on the battlefield to a cliche entrance. Ichigo playfully conversates with Kenpachi and he clashes with the Sternritters. Ichigo showcases his new abilities and his sword. He reveals his new Getsugatensho which he releases with ease and then he shows off his new move, Getsuga Jujisho. Ichigo overpowers the Bambietta Sternritters, however, the rest of the Quincies start to step in as they are savoring the chance to finish off Ichigo themselves.

A blue beam erupts into the sky which indicates Yhwach enacting his plan, which was to invade the Soul King palace. Ichigo weakened the barriers as he came to the battlefield and Ywhach utilized this weakness to invade the palace.

As Ichigo heads towards Yhwach, he is battered by the Quinices but the remaining notable soul reapers step in to help Ichigo. As Ichigo heads towards the blue beam, he is hit with an arrow that he is familiar with. Ichigo discovers that Uryu is standing along with Yhwach and is utterly confused by this image. Ichigo frantically demands an answer from Uryu who follows Yhwach to the palace. The episode ends with Chad and Orihime reuniting with Ichigo as they witness their friend's betrayal.
