How will humans be able to stand against the vampires to put a stop to the chaos and madness that's been running rampant for decades on end? What does the vampire army have up its sleeves? All these questions and more will be answered soon enough!

But first, allow us to fill you in on what you can expect out of Castlevania: Nocturne season 2!

Season 2 to explore how the tides will change with Alucard joining the fray

At the end of season 1, it's safe to say that the humans were down on their luck after grossly underestimating the vampiric powers at play. To even the score, however, Alucard agrees to lend his power and knowledge in hopes of putting a stop to this twisted dynamic once and for all.

“Alucard is going to lead Richter and Annette to Paris to try and find the last element that would allow Erzsebet to achieve the full power of Sekhmet and become even more powerful than she was in Season 1," showrunner Kevin Kolde told Netflix about season 2. "I think Alucard has seen a lot of Belmonts during his time, but he finds a little bit of annoying joy with Richter."

Of course, Alucard will have his work cut out for him since Erzsebet, the most menacing of them all, isn't going down without a fight.

"Season 2 picks up as the French Revolution rages on, and the ruling class of oppressive religious figures and exploitative imperialists have been infiltrated by literal blood-suckers, including the vampire messiah, Erzsebet," the showrunner hinted.

As for our non-supernatural individuals, Richter and Annette, you can bet that their stories are far from over. In fact, we would argue that season 2 will showcase even more of their strengths than ever before.

"[Annette’s] being haunted by these images and spirits, and she’s trying to understand what’s going on," Kolde shared. "If] she can figure out how to communicate with them the right way, to calm herself to listen, [she’ll realize] they’re really trying to communicate with her what she needs to do for her role in stopping Erzsebet."
