In case you missed it, the anime adaptation of the popular web-novel Omniscient Reader was officially announced at Anime Expo 2024!
Crunchyroll reports that the web-novel, written originally by Sing Shong, will be coming to our screens in the near future. A release date has yet to be revealed, but it has been confirmed that production for the title is currently underway. This means, more than likely, we may be able to expect the webtoon to come as soon as 2025 or, at the latest, 2026.
You'll have to wait a little longer to learn more about when you can stream every second of this adaptation. In the meantime, however, allow us to tell you all about what you can expect from Omniscient Reader!
Omniscient Reader explores the inevitability of an apocalypse
What would you do if you knew every detail about the end of the world? Would you sit and anticipate the end? Or would you try to do something to actively work against what has been willed to happen?
This is the main question Omniscient Reader impels you to consider.
Omniscient Reader tells the story of Dokja, a young man who is an avid reader of a book named "Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse." Little did he know that this book held the secrets to what exactly would happen during the apocalypse, compelling him to attempt to reverse the events that are expected to happen.
Will Dokja be able to interrupt fate's path? Or is the end of the world an inevitability no one can alter no matter how hard they try? Is there anyone who can stop him? Is there anyone who can help him? And, more importantly, what will Dokja have to sacrifice if he wants to protect the world?
All these questions are sure to be answered soon. Until then, check out the official teaser trailer for the upcoming release below.
