Spy x Family is approaching its finale of the Cruise Adventure arc as Yor attempts to take out the rest of the assassins while her clients escape. The previous episode covered Yor escorting her client and they were ambushed by a group of assassins.

As Yor and the director eliminate their attackers, Yor clashes with a swordsman who gives her trouble. The next episode will resume Yor's fight with the swordsman as she solidifies her beliefs and ambitions as an assassin and strengthens her resolve to protect her family.

Spy x Family season 2 episode 9 is titled "The Hand That Connects To The Future" and is scheduled to be released on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 11:00 pm Japanese Standard Time (JST). Spy x Family season 2 episode 8 recap

In the previous episode, the show resumes Yor's mission as she prepares to escort her clients through the fireworks display on the deck. As Yor leads Olka, Zeb, and Gram through the ship deck, the group is ambushed by the assassins lurking on the cruise. They are also targeted by a snip from long range and Yor is able to dodge the shot at the last second and launches her weapon in the same direction.

As the rest of the assassins move in to attack, Director Matthew intervenes and takes out the sniper troubling Yor. The Director then takes over the sniper position and is able to take out some of the assassins. Yor and Matthew partner up to take out their attackers as Yor eliminates her targets and Matthew cleans up the evidence afterwards. Yor then attempts to convince the assassin leader to quit while they're at it but the money is too good to pass up.

The leader directs his swordsman towards Yor and Matthew. The swordsman is able to take Matthew out of action and shifts his attention towards Yor. Yor is taken aback by the sheer strength of the swordsman and the assassins' leader offers to pay Yor to stand down and let them go after her clients. As Yor is challenged by the swordsman, she questions her motives to continue her job as an assassin. She comes to the understanding that her job was to protect her little brother's innocence and she intends to protect the new family with Anya and Loid.

After the credits, the show gives a short segment with Yuri as he catches a cold during a mission. While he rests, he reminisces about his time as a child when he caught a cold and Yor looked after him. Yor goes through many hoops to look after Yuri as she finds ways to mend his condition. She concocts an herbal tea for Yuri, who gets better after experiencing the awful tea. The show then shifts back to the present who drinks the tea given to him that is famous for the awful taste and is on the mend afterwards.
