Following its near-perfect first season, Kaiju No. 8 has officially been confirmed to return for a a sequel!

Crunchyroll reports that the shounen anime that took the anime world by storm is currently in production for its continuation. This means that fans will not only be able to see their favorite characters return to continue their respective storylines but also that the story will continue.

Check out the official announcement video for the Kaiju No. 8 sequel below!

We don't have a release date for the continuation just yet, no do we have an official synopsis detailing what we can expect the upcoming installment to entail. However, we may be able to share some insight regarding what's in store!

Warning: This article contains spoilers!

Kaiju No. 8 will show Kafka's new life with his biggest secret made public

Despite doing everything in his power to keep his secret away from everyone, season 1 ended with everyone learning that Kafka can turn into a monster. Naturally, this fact bothered many people, as they thought it impossible for Kafka to be able to not let his monstrous instincts take over and kill humans. However, Kafka proved them wrong, showing that rather than eliminating him once and for all, they can use him as an asset to, hopefully, stop the invasions of overwhelmingly strong monsters.

Kafka's life will never look the same going forward. But this can be seen as a blessing since humanity has a new shot at leveling the playing field between themselves and monsters. The use of Kafka as an ally is also a blessing in disguise because, unknowing to everyone, there exists a villain who seeks to conquer humanity. Now more than ever, society will need Kafka's power if they truly want a fair shot at putting a stop to what lurks in the shadows.

Between seeing Kafka's new life as a monster who will serve as humanity's ally and Kafka having to step up to the plate to show that he will be of use when the going gets rough, the next installment seems to be confirmed to adapt the Kaiju No. 8 Captured Arc and maybe even some of the Kaiju Weapon Arc; two arcs that are very important to the overall story of Kaiju No. 8.

What's on the way isn't something you want to miss, especially if you're a huge fan of Kafka and would like to see where his story goes. We'll be sure to fill you in on when the Kaiju No. 8 sequel will officially be released. But for now, we predict that spring 2025 is when the show may return. (Take this prediction with a grain of salt, though!)
