Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation season 2 returned in April to fans' excitement. The first half of the second season covered Rudy's transition after enrolling into the Renoa University of Magic and his reunion with Sylph.

In episode 18, Rudy receives a letter asking for help from his father and the squad looking for his mother. He is conflicted at first but ultimately decides to go save his parents. The new episode will enter into the next arc where Rudy travels to meet his father as they attempt to rescue Zenith.

Season 2 episode 18 recap

In the previous episode, Rudy continues his married life with Sylphy and his sisters. His bond with his siblings has become stronger as they are living together and Rudy goes about his daily routines.

Rudy focuses on being a family man and being a good brother in order to make up for all the lost time he had with his sisters. He teaches Norn and trains with Sylphy and has now agreed to pay Aisha for her services. He takes Aisha shopping as she wishes to garden and also buys sheets for her room. Rudy learns that Zanoba, Cliff, and Nanahoshi are making progress with their research as they are working toward their goals.

Nanahoshi has outlined a plan to gradually summon organic materials and Cliff has made an object resembling a chastity belt in order to help alleviate Elinalise's condition. He asks Rudy to test it using his Mana. After his training in the morning, Rudy enters his home and meets Sylphy in the dining room. Sylphy reveals that she is pregnant which sparks tears of joy from Rudy who is overcome with happiness. Rudy's life is going well until he receives a letter from his father which requests help urgently in their quest to save Rudy's mom in Begaritt.

Rudy is conflicted in his decision on whether to leave his family or stay. He is then visited by Hitogami, the Man God, at night as they go over his options. Hitogami reveals that he would regret traveling to the Begaritt continent as there will be consequences in both routes. The Man God was vague in his reasonings but recounted Rudy's steps in enrolling in the university and reuniting with his friends and sisters. Rudy then asks his friends around school and Zanoba informs him that he will support Rudy's decision either way.

Elinalise intends to travel towards Paul's squad in order to assists and plans on breaking up with Cliff. The next morning Rudy catches Norn packed with Luggage heading out because she is worried about her father. Rudy then comes to a decision to go with Elinalise in order to save his family.
