It's been quite a while since the very first season of My Hero Academia which seemed so wholesome and carefree compared to where the anime is now.
The first season of the anime had a few crude jokes here and there, but that was nothing that was too out of the ordinary for younger audiences. However, now, there are darker themes in the anime, such as death and increased violence. What's more, with the students in the show maturing quickly, it's possible that so, too, the humor of the show changes from rudimentary to something far more adult.
All this and more is why we want to give you a quick rundown on what the parents' guide and age rating for this anime are as of now, as well as give you some recommendations for other age-appropriate anime you can watch with the family. My Hero Academia season 7 begins on May 4, so be prepared with our guide right here!
My Hero Academia season 7 age rating
Contrary to what some may believe, My Hero Academia has always been an anime that leans a little more into what teenagers can handle, not young children, which is why the anime has been and still is technically rated PG-13.
Season 7 will follow the same PG-13 age rating as it will have quite a few scenes that feature violence and intense scenes. For example, there is bound to be an epic showdown between the heroes and the menacing One for All. This will most likely include suspenseful scenes and some strong language. You can see examples of the events to come in the official trailer for season 7 below.
Additionally, if there are more scenes than one including Mineta, the show's infamous deviant, then you may witness quite an annoying amount of sexually perverted humor.
If this sounds like your cup of tea and you don't mind My Hero Academia's age rating, then you are all set to stream the new season. However, if you've grown tired of having to dodge the heavier themes/crude comedy or just want something different to watch, here are a few options!
