What Happened in One Piece  Episode 1076?

In the previous episode, the show shed light on Kaido's past and provided some depth into his character and his ideology. The backstory covered Kaido as a child and his journey to become strong and a pirate emperor. Kaido began as a child fighter in the Vodka Kingdom and experienced many wars. He was offered as a heavenly tribute by his Kingdom for a seat in the Reverie. Kaido lamented this decision and was disgusted for being used as a political piece. He would break in and break out of prison as he pleased in order to eat food and wreak havoc.

When Kaido was 15, his name started to make waves through the pirate world and Whitebeard recommended he join the Rocks pirates. The show then explains that Kaido joined the pirate group and left when he met Kurozumi at God Valley. He then established a Kingdom in Wano as he plotted to oppress the people and begin his reign. In his conversation with the king, Kaido revealed he knew who Joyboy was.

During the end phase of their fight. Luffy launched his final attack towards Kaido in his flame body form. The two clashed back and forth as Kaido taunted Luffy about his strengths and his ambitions. Luffy did not relent and kept his pressure on Kaido. Momonuske finally summons his flame clouds to move Onigashima and saves the land from crashing.

Luffy with his new haki powers is able to punch Kaido and destroy Kaido's flame body and lands his crushing blow. Kaido flies towards the ground as the civilians of Wano celebrate their festival. As their wish lanterns fill the sky, the civilians are rid of their oppressors and Luffy rejoices in the Sky. The audience then witnesses the answer to Kaido's flashback about Joyboy. Kaido reveals to King that Joyboy will be the one to take him down, as the scene cuts to Luffy in his gear 5 form.
