What happened in One Piece episode 1081?
In the previous episode, One Piece began teasing Shanks and the Red-haired Pirates as they arrived near Wano and received the news that Luffy has become an emperor of the sea and that Kaido and Big Mom had been defeated. It was revealed that Bartolomeo had burned one of Shank's pirate flags because he was an ally of Luffy.
In Wano, the land is celebrating its liberation and the festival continues as the Straw Hats rejoice in victory. Admiral Ryogoku is heading towards Wano and the Akazaya Nine sense his presence. The Samurai confront the newly revealed Admiral and the two sides have a standoff. The audience learns that Ryogoku has the power of the wood-wood fruit and he is able to manipulate his body into tree roots and greenery.
The Admiral reveals his ideology on how sacrifice is necessary for the majority of the world to thrive. He accepts that some will suffer oppression for the masses to enjoy freedom. Yamato overhears this drivel and attacks the admiral with Haki. Momnosuke then joins the battle and takes several shots at the navy adversary.
The show then shifts to the Navy headquarters and sheds light on the ongoing operations of the Revolutionary Army. Akainu learns that Sabo has set his sights on the Celestial Dragons during the Reverie and liberated Kuma. King Cobra was eliminated and Sabo was given the title of Flame Emperor and has become a larger symbol than Monkey D. Dragon himself. At the end of the episode, we see Shanks again and he tells Ben Beckman it is time to go for the One Piece.
