Oshi No Ko season 1 recap

The series starts with a doctor named Gorou Amamiya who developed a fandom for an idol after his experience treating a cancer patient and he ends up with the idol, Ai Hoshino, as a patient. He agrees to oversee her pregnancy journey and before her delivery, Gorou is spotted by a stalker and is pushed off a cliff, and subsequently dies. However, the show reveals its twist as the doctor is reborn as one of Hoshino's baby twins. His twin sister is revealed to be the cancer patient the doctor treated, Sarina Tendouji.

The babies, Aqua and Ruby, are raised by Ai and her management as she strives to become a successful idol. The babies can talk and retain their memories of their past life and they live their lives as toddlers while Ai Hoshino takes on acting and music jobs.

Ai kept her pregnancy a secret but her stalker finds out and arrives at her doorstep to murder her in front of Aqua. Later Aqua realizes that the stalker may have been tipped off by their father whose identity remains mysterious. Aqua resolves to find their mother's killer and begins his decade-long plan by asking a director to teach him about the business.

Years later, Aqua and Ruby begin their high school journey and Aqua remains determined to find the killer and is also adamant to stop Ruby from following her dreams of becoming an idol. He then asks their adoptive mother to manage Ruby and create an idol group. Ruby names her new Pop group after B-Komachi with Kana Arima and Mem-cho as members. Aqua enters a reality show in order to get information from their producer who has a connection to Ai Hoshino. During the reality show, there are ups and downs to the dating environment and Aqua meets many characters including Akane, who displays an acting talent where she successfully does an impression of Ai Hoshino to entice Aqua.

The season ends with Aqua, Akane, and Kana cast in the Tokyo Blade play where the characters will confront each other during the production. Let's see where this anime goes next!
