Oshi No Ko season 2 episode 2 recap

In the previous episode, the author of Tokyo Blade suggests a complete rewrite of the script which is then followed by a flashback.

The flashback begins with Aqua and Kana entering the building for rehearsals and they encounter Melt, the actor they worked with earlier last season. Melt informs them he has worked on his skills since their last gig and the three enter the rehearsal room and are introduced to the actors of Lala Lai Productions, including Akane. Akane thanks Aqua for his help during the reality show and she offers her assistance for the play.

The author, Abiko Samejima, has dinner with Yoriko Kichijouji, the author of Sweet Today. They discuss the adaptations and the difficulties that come with live-action productions.

In the present, Abiko voices her frustration with the script and how it diverges from the source. The show then explains how the script process is basically the telephone game where notes are passed down a chain of command. Abiko's criticism of the script was passed down many middlemen before the notes were passed to the screenwriter, which may have contributed to the dissonance.

Abiko is frustrated and declares that she will just write the script herself and wants the screenwriter removed. Goa, the screenwriter, is resigned to his fate and is informed that changes will be made and his credit will remain since the cast info was already submitted.

Towards the end of the episode, the actors are informed that the rehearsals are on hiatus and that they will continue when the script is rewritten. Akane and Aqua discuss the news of the hiatus and Akane begins to question Aqua's opinions on stage plays. She then takes it upon herself to take Aqua on a date to a stage production in hopes of changing his views on the art form of stage around.
