Spy x Family season 2 episode 1 release date and time

Spy x Family season 2 will premiere this October as a part of the fall 2023 anime lineup and it will continue Twilight's mission of following Donovan Desmond. Viewers can expect to see the adventures of the Forger family and follow Anya's life in school. The season will also unveil the Cruise Adventure Arc, where the Forgers will embark on a cruise vacation as they face different obstacles.

In the trailer, which you can watch below, we see different scenes such as Loid asking Yor on a date and it features the usual dangerous situations that were similarly portrayed in season 1.

The opening theme for the second season has been revealed and the opening sequence can be found below. The song is titled "Kurakura" and is sung by Ado.

When does Spy x Family season 2 episode 1 get released?

Spy x Family season 2 episode 1 is scheduled to be released on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, at 11:00 pm Japanese Standard Time (JST). It will be simulcast on Crunchyroll in the United States. The episode will be available in the U.S. on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023.

What Happened previously in Spy x Family?

In the previous season of Spy X Family, Twilight is a spy for Westalis and is given the mission titled Operation Strix. For this mission, Twilight is given the task of going undercover in order to get closer to Donovan Desmond, the Ostania party leader, and prevent him from disturbing the peace of the nations.

Donovan rarely appears in public and is known to come to the surface for gatherings at his son's school, Eden Academy. Twilight begins a fake family by adopting a daughter from an orphanage. This introduces Anya, a telepath, whose powers allow her to read the minds of other people. Twilight then encounters Yor Briar, an undercover assassin and the two are able to form a partnership with Anya's assistance as they both agree to act as a married couple for image purposes.

The three characters live together and keep their real identities from each other as they embark on their life as a "family." Twilight enrolls Anya into Eden Academy after she passes their exam and the interview. Anya promises to do her best at the school and get closer to Donavan Desmond's son, Damian. Anya encounters obstacles in pursuing a friendship with Damian as their personalities differ and she becomes friends with Becky, another classmate in the school. Yor's brother, Yuri, discovers she has secretly married and comes over to the Forger's place to meet Loid Forger.

Yuri is revealed to be a part of the Ostanian State Security and interrogates informants for a living and Twilight is able to uncover this finding in his conversation with Yuri. Yuri is suspicious of the marriage because of his close relationship with Yor but ultimately relents when his sister reveals she is happy. Anya continues attending the academy as she seeks Stella Stars which highlights the students' achievement.

The family then adds a dog to the mix and they choose Bond, who can predict the future due to experimental procedures. They continue to experience different conflicts and situations while maintaining their secret identities and Loid is eventually able to infiltrate the academy on the day of their social gathering where Donovan Desmond makes his appearance. Twilight uses his cover as Loid Forger to come into contact with Damian and is able to meet Donovan and proceed to make conversation. He is able to get a glimpse into Desmond's values and witnesses the Desmond family relationships.
