Spy x Family to return with season 3! Here's what to expect

As expected, fans are delighted to hear that Spy x Family has officially been renewed for a third season!

The previous installments of the super popular anime depict how the found family does their best to keep their biggest secrets from one another. Anya's mind-reading skills are a huge asset for her, but she fears her parents may discard her if they knew. Yor is a badass assassin with skills that may scare her husband and daughter away. And Loid, the man who put this family together, is a tough, crime-busting soldier whose double life could pose a threat to the safety of his family.

Despite all their differences, however, they complement each other very well and inadvertently help one another achieve their great goal.

So far, Anya, Yor, and Loid have made great efforts to get closer to their end goal. And with the next season on the way, we can expect each one of them to get even closer. Here's everything you can expect to witness in the highly anticipated third season.

Spy x Family season 3 to dive into Loid's backstory while raising the stakes

Assuming the anime adapts the manga closely, we can expect the first half of season 3 to detail Loid's backstory including why he decided to become a spy and fight for the greater good. This arc is known as the WISE Arc, meaning we will get to know a little more about the operation as a whole and how they seek to ensure a war doesn't break out between Ostania and Westalis.

Season 3 may also sprinkle in some content from the next arc in the manga, which is the Friendship Schemes Arc.

The Friendship Schemes Arc follows Yor as she becomes associates with Damian's mom, a new union that may spring forth a beneficial friendship or a rivalry with a diminishing return. Additionally, with these mothers bonding, their respective children, Anya and Damian, become much closer in their partnership.

With all this in mind, season 3 will be an eventual installment with twists and turns at every corner; a season you don't want to miss.
