The Rising of the Shield Hero will continue its third season with the twelfth episode premiering this weekend. The previous episode focused on Itsuki, the Bow hero, and how he was manipulated by Malty. Rishia was able to talk some sense into Itsuki who was left broken when he was abandoned by Malty. The upcoming episode will highlight the focus on the Phoenix Guardian beast and the heroes preparing for it.

The Rising of the Shield Hero season 3 episode 12 is titled “The Ones We Must Protect” and is scheduled to be released on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 9:00 pm Japanese Standard Time (JST). The Rising of the Shield Hero season 3 episode 11 recap

In the last episode of The Rising of the Shield Hero, the show resumes with Itsuki, the Bow hero, facing off against Rishia in the coliseum. Itsuki has been manipulated by Myne and is using his own twisted interpretation of justice to attack Naofumi.

Itsuki assumes Rishia is weak and Rishia counters with her training and newfound swordsmanship skills. Itsuki assumes that Naofumi has pushed Rishia to fight and that the demi-humans are held against their will. He shoots into the crowd with his cursed bow and the arrows scatter throughout the area. The Justice bow arrow hits the announcer, who stands back up and apologizes to Itsuki. Naofumi questions the power of the bow and believes that the item on the bow is causing it.

Rishia tries to get Itsuki's attention back to her and she showcases her new skills as she uses her different stances with her sword. She is able to damage Itsuki, who further succumbs to the curse series and he powers himself up even more. Itsuki attempts to bind Rishia with his bow and she breaks free as her weapon breaks. Rishia refuses to give up and Itsuki's bow creates a weapon for Rishia to use. The bow is resisting the cruse powers and hands Rishia the key to beating Itsuki.

Rishia is able to beat Itsuki with the bow powers and Itsuki immediately runs towards Malty because she is the only person who believes in him in his eyes. Malty leaves a letter for Itsuki and reveals she stole his money and leaves him with all the debt. Itsuki faints in shock and wakes up in Lurolona village in Naofumi's care. Rishia assures Itsuki that she will help him with his debts and they go outside as they run errands for the village. Naofumi and Raphtalia discuss Itsuki's condition as they get ready for the Phoenix.
