In just a few more weeks, we will finally get to witness peak anime return to our screens! That's right, we're talking about none other than Tower of God season 2 (also known as Tower of God: Return of the Prince)!

The highly anticipated sophomore season officially returns on Sunday, July 7. With this new season comes the continuation of the fascinating story we were told in the pilot season of ambitious individuals fighting to get to the top of a tall tower in order to fulfill their greatest wish. What's more, season 2 will also bring forth the answer to the burning question we have all been asking ever since the season 1 finale: what happened to Bam after Rachel's betrayal?

Get a taste of what's to come by checking out the season 2 trailer below!

Excited about what's to come? If so, here are some important things to know before the season 2 premiere officially arrives on Crunchyroll!

Tower of God season 2 will be full of turns and twists

In addition to the sophomore season telling continuing from where we left off, fans are also bound to learn more about new and returning characters that will add new elements to the main story. Some of these characters will be an ally to your favorite characters, while others seem to have their own malicious motivations that will indefinitely bring disorder.

As per the official synopsis, here is a teaser of the relationship between two characters who will be at the center of season 2.

"Ja Wangnan can’t seem to pass the 20th floor. Even after failing time and time again, he refuses to give up. On his journey, he meets a mysterious and powerful character named Viole. Wangnan invites Viole to join his team of Regulars. Their journey continues with new challenges at every turn."

What is Ja Wangnan's reason for wanting to get to the top of the tower? How will his meeting with a new ally rid him of his unluckiness? And, more importantly, who or what will stand in their way when they arrive closer and closer to their main goal?

Going off of the synopsis, we can see that Bam, the protagonist of season 1, is nowhere to be found. However, we have a feeling that his journey is far from over, so don't count him out just yet.

With all these new and returning characters with different incentives, things are bound to clash, leaving us to wonder how things will unfold. Only time will tell!

As we approach closer to Tower of God season 2's premiere date, be sure to stay tuned with Anime Away for more updates. And, don't forget to head to Crunchyroll to stream the first season of Tower of God.
