As shared by Crunchyroll, the Anime Expo 2024 Trigun STAMPEDE panel, co-hosted by Crunchyroll and anime studio Orange, has officially revealed the title of the forthcoming second part of the series. The season following up the original Trigun STAMPEDE to serve as the conclusion of the story has been revealed to be titled Trigun STARGAZE. Crunchyroll has also confirmed that it will be the streaming home of Trigun STARGAZE when it debuts.

It wasn't a secret that Trigun Stampede would be receiving a second season to serve as a conclusion to the series. What was described as a "final phase" was announced in March 2023 after the last episode of the first part of the series concluded. This announcement is important for officially revealing the Trigun STARGAZE title to fans for the first time.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the debut of the Trigun Stampede anime series, the official Trigun STAMPEDE X (formerly Twitter) account also shared a new visual by series creator Yasuhiro Nightow featuring characters Vash and Wolfwood:

Trigun STAMPEDE is part remake and part prequel to the 1998 Trigun series. The original Trigun manga that inspired the anime adaptations debuted in 1995 and went on hiatus at the end of 1996 before returning in late 1997 and running until its conclusion in 2007. Trigun is not the first 90s anime to receive a modern remake. Since the mid-2010s, other iconic anime series including Berserk, Sailor Moon, Digimon Adventure and Urusei Yatsura have all had remakes produced in recent anime seasons. While several of these remakes have divided fans, Trigun STAMPEDE has been well-received by fans for the most part, with a current rating of 7.83 on MyAnimeList.

Crunchyroll provides the following synopsis for Trigun STAMPEDE:

"Vash the Stampede’s a joyful gunslinging pacifist, so why does he have a $$6 million bounty on his head? That’s what’s puzzling rookie reporter Meryl Stryfe and her jaded veteran partner when looking into the vigilante only to find someone who hates blood. But their investigation turns out to uncover something heinous—his evil twin brother, Millions Knives."

As of this writing, a release date for Trigun STARGAZE has not been announced. It is also currently unclear whether Trigun STARGAZE will tie into the plot of the original Trigun anime and manga or take the story in a new direction. In the meantime, both Trigun STAMPEDE and the 1998 Trigun series are available to stream on Crunchyroll. Additionally, Crunchyroll has announced a limited edition home media release of Trigun STAMPEDE among its home releases scheduled for September 2024.
