Tatsuro Suga’s The Catcher in the Ballpark! to receive an anime adaptation in 2025

As we approach the end of this year, new anime adaptations are being announced nearly every day. This makes us, as well as the rest of the anime community, super excited about the future of anime since it seems we won’t have a shortage of new shows and other releases soon.

Speaking of new shows on the way, we have the official confirmation that Tatsuro Suga’s The Catcher in the Ballpark! is ready to be the next manga in line to get an anime adaptation!

Expected to arrive in 2025, The Catcher in the Ballpark! will officially join the rest of the many slice-of-life shows that we have with us today. But don’t think that’s all there is to this anime!

Two unlikely people are brought together by coincidence but stay by choice

Murata’s day-to-day life is nothing to be impressed over. In fact, his life is terribly boring. The only time he’s thoroughly entertained is when he heads to his local ballpark to watch baseball games that are surely a spectacle. On one fated day, during his usual visit to the park, he meets Ruriko, a girl as lively and bubbly as they come. However, there is more to Ruriko than meets the eye.

How will Ruriko influence Murata’s life going forward? How will Murata influence Ruriko’s? All these questions and more will be answered once we tune in to the anime premiere in 2025. Until then, check out the brand-new official trailer teaser for The Catcher in the Ballpark! below.

Voicing the role of Murata is Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation and Let This Grieving Soul Retire! voice actor Satoshi Inomata. Alongside Inomata is Fairouz Ai who will be voicing the role of Ruriko. Fairouz Ai is the talented voice actor who you may have heard in anime titles, including (but not limited to) Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Kaiju No. 8, Chainsaw Man, and many more. 

In addition to Satoshi Inomata and Fairouz Ai, the crew of The Catcher in the Ballpark! includes Junichi Kitamura as the director, Shigeru Murakoshi as the series composer, Fumio Iida as the character designer, and MONACA as the music composer for the anime.
