An underrated anime genre that we wish people paid more attention to is Yuri, a genre made for sapphic individuals or audiences that tend to want to see more romance between women as opposed to the typical heteronormative relationship between a male and female character. Fortunately, we're receiving a couple more anime shows that belong to Yuri, one of which is none other than This Monster Wants to Eat Me.

This Monster Wants to Eat Me is an upcoming anime series slated to arrive in 2025. As the title implies, the anime is one that does have to do with fantasy, as monsters are entities that exist in this world. But where some monsters want to inflict harm upon others, some are not so dangerous and are, rather, more romantic.

For the longest time, Hinako has been in fear of the sensation and act of drowning since it reminds her of her rough past. Unfortunately, this fear actualizes in real life and puts her in the situation she fears the most. That is until a mysterious mermaid saves her life and changes her life forever. Perhaps, there's finally a light at the end of the tunnel for Hinako.
