Have you been anywhere near anime social media? If so, you may have seen an endless number of pictures of Attack on Titan’s Eren, Armin, and Mikasa looking very different than they usually do. No, this isn’t a fanart. Nor is it Artificial intelligence. Rather, it’s a canon depiction from the brand-new film for the anime, Attack on Titan: The Last Attack.

In the form of a film, Attack on Titan: The Last Attack shows the destruction and chaos that followed after our protagonist, Eren, went off the deep end, aiming to settle the score with humanity once and for all. Armin, Mikasa, and the rest of Eren’s allies tried everything to stop him from going to the point of no return, but once it proved futile, they were left with no choice but to vow to kill Eren no matter what. Of course, this final battle plan won’t be accomplished easily.

How will Mikasa and Armin, Eren’s closest friends, be able to deliver the final blow to their beloved childhood friend? Will they be able to get to him before it’s too late? And, more importantly, is there redemption for Eren despite everything and everyone that’s been destroyed? All these answers and more are in store for you when you tune in.

As mentioned above, this isn’t a title you want to miss, as this 2024 film not only serves as a powerful compilation of the final season of Attack on Titan but also holds some never-before-seen scenes featuring your favorite characters reimagined as individuals who live in the modern world. (Goth Mikasa is canon, people!)

Attack on Titan: The Last Attack is only in select theaters…for now

At the time of writing, this 2024 film can only be viewed in select theaters in Japan. The film was released on Friday, Nov. 8, which leads us to believe that because the Japanese theatrical release was so recent, we may not receive the English version until sometime in 2025 or an even later date. (Take this with a grain of salt!)

We’re crossing our fingers, hoping that Attack on Titan: The Last Attack will be acquired by Crunchyroll and will be available to stream by audiences worldwide very soon. However, we’ll have to wait for more official information to know for sure.

In the meantime, to satiate your Attack on Titan desires, we recommend heading to Crunchyroll to stream every single installment of the smash-hit shounen anime, including underrated OVAs. And, of course, we recommend streaming the final season to see how this iconic anime series ended.
