We don’t know about you but we’ve been thoroughly enjoying every second of Yakuza Fiancé!
Between the character growth of Yoshino where she went from someone trying to appease everyone to someone who began to prioritize what she wanted and the slow feelings Miyamura is developing towards Yoshino that’s making him far more gentle and more considerate of the women around him, we can’t help but to sit back and kick our feet up, wishing that the episode never ended. But alas, episodes end and so do seasons, which is why we, along with the rest of Yakuza Fiancé fans, are hoping and praying that this anime receives a new season.
We all know how it goes —- romance and/or seinen anime series tend not to receive additional installments for various reasons. Even so, some titles break the curse and go on to run for quite some time. (Looking at you, Tokyo Ghoul!) Will Yakuza Fiancé be amongst the lucky anime shows to receive more and more seasons? Or is this the one off of this title, much to everyone’s dismay?
Here’s everything we know so far!
Why Yakuza Fiancé deserves a second chance
From the looks of it, unless you’re living in a Yakuza Fiancé-filled bubble, this anime series’ adaptation isn’t as popular as fans would have hoped it would be. Be it because of the subject matter, character design, parental warning, or any other reason, the general audience isn’t always in a rush to stream this anime. Naturally, we’re hoping this will change. However, if it doesn’t, we still think Yakuza Fiancé should return anyway.
The anime is filled with status quo-breakers. From disrupting the love triangle theme everyone knows and, sometimes, is aggravated by to more mature themes that romance lovers have been begging to see included in new and upcoming titles, there isn’t an inch of this anime that doesn’t know how to break fans’ expectations to give them something completely different. Not only does this keep fans on their toes, causing them to tune in every episode, but it’s also something that is refreshing and gives us something new to indulge in.
In addition to switching up the norm, Yakuza Fiancé has great longevity. The manga is still running and seems to be getting better and better each chapter. And should those new chapters be adapted, we know that anime fans will sincerely enjoy everything that the title throws their direction since the characters and story simultaneously improve stupendously.
All in all, Yakuza Fiancé is one of those shows that could go on to have its entire manga adapted. If only everyone gave it a try, we think it may even dethrone some of the other romance shows that we thought could never be topped.
As you may have guessed, we’re crossing our fingers, hoping that Yakuza Fiancé returns to our screens for a sophomore season. Although only time can tell what lies ahead for the anime, we’re hoping the burning wishes for a renewal are more than enough to warrant one.
