Most streaming services have a handful of anime titles on their sites. These anime usually serve as a great way for new fans to get introduced to the vast world of anime. However, if you've been watching anime for a while or just someone who desires more options, a handful of anime is far from enough. Instead, you need a streaming service with so many anime titles to choose from, it makes your head spin.
Fortunately, we have recommendations that may fulfill what you need!
1. Crunchyroll
No matter how many streaming services come and go, as long as Crunchyroll is standing, this site will always be the best place to go to stream anime shows and films.
As of today, Crunchyroll is home to over 1,400 anime shows and films, each belonging to different genres, time periods, and aesthetics. What's more, the site is also great for anime fans who watch their titles in different languages since Crunchyroll typically provides a range of different sub and dub languages for fans globally. All around, it's a great option for both new and veteran anime fans who just want a plethora of titles to sink their teeth into.
Here are a few anime on Crunchyroll that always catches our attention:
- Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
- Fruits Basket
- Given
- Kill la Kill
- The Elusive Samurai
If you don't have a subscription to Crunchyroll (or somehow managed to watch almost every title on the streaming service), there's no need to worry because there are a few other anime sites we recommend trying out!
2. Hulu
Even though Hulu originals and films are Hulu's bread and butter, subscribers absolutely must not ignore the fact that the site is home to some of the best anime shows to have ever been created. Be it a brand-new anime or that one anime from years ago you forgot the characters of but always remember the name, Hulu absolutely has it all.
What makes the anime selection unique on Hulu is not only the rare titles that the site tends to have but also the fact that a great deal of anime on the site update with new episodes every week. So if an anime title releases a new episode, with Hulu, you don't have to worry about missing out on it.
Some of our favorite anime on Hulu include:
- Bakuman
- Chainsaw Man
- Fate/Zero
- The Case Study of Vanitas
- Tokyo Revengers
3. Netflix
Our favorite thing about anime on Netflix is the originals that the streamer works hard to bring our way. Sure, the classics are also housed on Netflix, available to stream at your leisure. But when we want something fresh or has never been done before, we head over to Netflix because we know they have just what we're looking for.
Netflix doesn't seem to be slowing down from its release of original titles with titles like Arcane and another installment of Delicious in Dungeon coming soon. However, as we wait for those titles to be released on the platform, there are a great deal of other released shows that are absolutely worth the watch.
The best Netflix original anime to watch right now include:
- Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
- Great Pretender
- Kotaro Lives Alone
- Super Crooks
- The Way of the House Husband
4. Max
Although Max doesn't have that many anime titles, the site does have all the anime films you could ever ask for, especially when it comes to Studio Ghibli films that you truly cannot watch anywhere else.
Case in point, The Boy and the Heron, the Academy Award-winning film starring plenty of Hollywood A-Listers, is on Max. This is a huge deal because most other anime streaming services don't have this anime film available just yet (or may never have it, for that matter). Something this special definitely shouldn't go unnoticed!
If Max having The Boy and the Heron doesn't compel you to subscribe to the site, then maybe these other films will!
- Howl's Moving Castle
- Kiki's Delivery Service
- Ride Your Wave
- Spirited Away
- The Tale of the Princess Kaguya
Whenever you think you don't have any anime titles to watch, be sure to check through all of Crunchyroll, Hulu, Netflix, and Max's catalog. We're sure you'll find something that suits you!
