Suppose you’ve always wanted to stream more anime shows like Moriarty the Patriot or The Great Pretender, which deal with a ton of mystery detective work or revolve around a crime case that desperately needs to be cracked. In that case, you’re in luck because, as reported by Crunchyroll, we’re receiving Cat’s Eye, a detective mystery anime series slated to come to Disney+ in 2025!
Cat’s Eye, originally written by Tsukasa Hojo, is a series that is a bit different than other detective anime titles because of a juicy twist at the heart of the story. What’s more, it has pretty badass female characters that are not only strong but very intelligent, which is a nice change of pace compared to how female characters are typically written as weaker or only powerful in the support role.
If this sounds like an anime series you’re more than happy to stream, then allow us to tell you all about what’s on the way to you in the new year!
Cat’s Eye revolves around three untouchable sisters who rule the world
Toshio Utsumi is a detective tasked with uncovering the mystery behind why prized artworks are stolen in broad daylight. The nation knows that it’s none other than the infamous Cat’s Eye group that’s behind this crime, but no one seems to know what to do to bring them down nor do they know their identities. However, all that finally changes when Toshio receives some help from three sisters who may be able to get him closer than ever to solving the mystery.
Check out the official synopsis for the series below.
"A mysterious art thief named Cat's Eye exclusively goes after the works of European painter Michael Heinz. Detective Toshio Utsumi fails to arrest Cat's Eye at every turn, getting scolded by his boss, and even facing demotion. Toshio's girlfriend Hitomi Kisugi, who runs a café near the precinct which shares the name of this thief, is always there to listen to his gripes and give him a pick-me-up. Little does he know that Hitomi and her sisters are actually Cat's Eye."
