As part of a panel devoted to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba at the Comic Con Experience (CCXP) convention held in São Paulo, Brazil, Crunchyroll has shared the first look at the upcoming Demon Slayer movie trilogy. This movie trilogy will be titled Infinity Castle and will adapt the final arc of the original Demon Slayer manga series, which wrapped up in 2020, while the anime adaptation ended earlier this year.

The initial collaboration between Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment to distribute the Demon Slayer film trilogy in theaters around the globe was previously announced back in June. As of the CCXP announcement, we now know that fans can expect the theatrical release of the first Infinity Castle movies at an currently unannounced date in 2025.

Demon Slayer is in good company as a supernatural historical anime series announcing a film trilogy. A film trilogy based on supernatural mystery series Mononoke was announced last year and the first movie in the trilogy debuted in Japanese theaters in July 2024 and hit international streaming via Netflix in November.

The Demon Slayer anime series is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll, Netflix and Hulu, and is available for digital purchase on various other platforms. That means fans have plenty of options to catch up on the series before the debut of Infinity Castle. Crunchyroll streams the Mugen Train story arc in the original movie format the anime was first released in back in 2020, as well as breaking the arc up into individual episodes. Crunchyroll also streams a recording of the Demon Slayer stage show.

Crunchyroll provides the following summary of the Demon Slayer anime series:

"It is the Taisho Period in Japan. Tanjiro, a kindhearted boy who sells charcoal for a living, finds his family slaughtered by a demon. To make matters worse, his younger sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, has been transformed into a demon herself.

Though devastated by this grim reality, Tanjiro resolves to become a “demon slayer” so that he can turn his sister back into a human, and kill the demon that massacred his family."

Written and drawn by Koyoharu Gotouge, the original manga was published in iconic magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from 2016 to 2020. The English version of the manga is licensed by Viz Media. The Demon Slayer manga series can be read digitally on both Viz's Shōnen Jump app and original publisher Shueisha's Manga Plus app. Physical copies of the volumes of the manga series are also available for purchase directly from various online retailers.
