Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc to end after 8 episodes (What to expect)
By Diana Nosa
As much as we hate to be the bearer of unfortunate news, with a heavy heart we are so sad to say that Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc will be coming to a conclusion after eight episodes.
This update makes the Hashira Training Arc the second shortest installment (right behind the Mugen Train Arc TV edition) and the first season of the anime that fans would deem as mostly filler. These two facts are important to note because they not only mark the end of the norm that we expect from Demon Slayer but also indicate the beginning of the eventual end of the Shounen anime.
Things are changing relatively fast for Demon Slayer, prompting fans to brace for the end of the anime. However, we don't have to panic just yet because there are still tons of new episodes on the way with moments never before seen.
Here's what you can expect the final episodes of the Hashira Training Arc to entail!
Hashira Training Arc final episodes are expected to be longer
As reported by AnimeTV (@animetv_jp), the final two episodes of Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc won't be like the most recent episodes we've had thus far. Rather, episode 7 is slated to be approximately 40 minutes long, while episode 8, the finale, is expected to be about an hour in duration.
Check out the official announcement below.
These longer episode times give the arc a chance to tie up any loose ends while also preparing fans for what's to come in later episodes, so, although the season has been somewhat filler-heavy, we don't recommend missing out on the final two episodes of the season. Not to mention the fact that the finale could finally answer the burning question we've had all season.
Hashira Training Arc finale may show Muzan's whereabouts
Muzan Kibutsuji, the antagonist of the anime, has been noticeably absent from most of the season. While his absence is a breath of fresh air since it usually means Tanjiro Kamado and his fellow demon-slaying peers can rest for a bit, Muzan's disappearance also evokes an unsettling fear since it could also mean that he already has a plan set in motion; a plan that could spell the end for humanity.
Our hopes are that the Hashira Training Arc finale reveals what Muzan has been up to this entire time since this will be a perfect setup for the upcoming Infinity Castle Arc adaptation, an arc that involves Muzan to a great extent. What's more, we also hope the finale gives more insight as to why Kagaya Ubuyashiki and Muzan are each other's foils.
Only time will tell what the finale of Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc will cover. But for now, all we know is that the final episodes aren't ones you want to miss a single second of, so be sure to head to Crunchyroll on Sunday, June 23, and Sunday, June 30, at 10:45 a.m. PT (or 1:45 p.m. ET) to stream the last two episodes.
