With the new season beginning, the summer 2024 anime schedule is taking shape. In preparation for the season's start at the beginning of July, anime streamers have been formally revealing their upcoming schedules for the anime season. Crunchyroll had previously announced its summer 2024 schedule.
Now, Sentai Filmworks's streaming service HIDIVE has announced its own summer 2024 schedule.
New series and seasons
HIDIVE's summer schedule features the return of the acclaimed Oshi no Ko, with the debut of its second season. Combining a story about reincarnation, a murder mystery, and an unflinching examination of the dark side of the Japanese entertainment industry, Oshi no Ko quickly proved one of the biggest anime hits of 2023. Season two of Oshi no Ko debuts on HIDIVE Wednesday, July 3.
Additionally, HIDIVE's summer schedule will see the debut of the fantasy series I Parry Everything. Based on an ongoing series of light novels with the full Japanese title Ore wa Subete wo "Parry" suru: Gyaku Kanchigai no Sekai Saikyou wa Boukensha ni Naritai, the series follows a hero who has mastered the ability to parry all attacks directed at him with his sword. HIDIVE has provided the following synopsis:
"The Kingdom of Clays faces a dire crisis: an assassination attempt has just been made on its own Princess Lynneburg, and now its neighboring countries eye the aftermath like starving vultures, plotting the Kingdom's downfall. The ensuing conflict will shape the face of the continent for centuries to come...but Noor doesn't have a clue about any of that! Having freshly arrived at the royal capital after over a decade of rigorous, isolated training at his mountain home, he's dead set on achieving his childhood dream of becoming an adventurer, even if the only skills he possesses are useless ones. Sure, Noor can "parry" thousands of swords in the span of a single breath, but everybody knows you need more than that if you want to be an adventurer! Our hero's road to making his dream come true will be long(?) and arduous(?)—but if there's one thing Noor's not afraid of, it's some good ol' fashioned hard work!"HIDIVE
I Parry Everything will debut on HIDIVE Thursday, July 4.
Next is 2.5 Dimensional Seduction, a comedy series following video game nerd Okumura as he discovers that the female members of the school manga club love to cosplay as his favorite fictional characters. 2.5 Dimensional Seduction debuts Friday, July 5.
The next announced summer 2024 anime is Dungeon People, a series series following the adventurer Clay, who goes from exploring the dungeon to look for her missing father to taking a job helping to manage the dungeon after being hired by the dungeon's administrator Belle. Dungeon People debuts on HIDIVE Friday, July 5.
The last new series announced for HIDIVE's summer schedule is Plus-Sized Elf, a reverse isekai series about massage therapist Naoe helping a cast of fantasy-world characters visiting Earth to lose weight and live healthily. Plus-Sized Elf will debut on HIDIVE Saturday, July 6.
