Mashle: Magic and Muscles season 2 episode 3 recap

In the previous episode, Rayne Ames confronted Macaron for attempting to ambush Mash and his friends. The narrator covers Macaron's past where he was in a middle school division tournament before becoming the prefect of the orca dorm.

Macaron summons a piano in front of Rayne and performs for a bit before he details how he and Rayne have different ideals. The two clash as Mash and his friends play a board game. Finn recalls Regro's words about how happy he was about Mash finding friends and Finn has decided to protect Mash and the group so they can enjoy their lives.

The episode then cuts back to Rayne and Macaron's fight and Macaron is annoyed with Rayne's interference. Rayne begins to power up as Wahlberg reveals that there are a faction of students that have double magic marks but three-liners like Rayne are even more Rare. Rayne's third line appears and is resolved to stop Macaron in order for Mash to take the divine visionary exam.

Mash leaves his home to enjoy a special cream puff and he stumbles upon the fight between Rayne and Macaron. Macaron is intrigued by Rayne's powers. Rayne deduces that Orter requested Macaron to eliminate Mash and he claims that Mash is important and he will break the stigma for "blackmagic" by fighting his own destiny. Macaron releases his sound orchestra magic but the show cuts to Wahlberg and he reveals that three-liners are chosen by gods and that they can change the form of their wand.

Rayne unleashes his powers with the power of Ares and he drives off Macaron and his crew. Mash reveals himself to Rayne and thanks him. Rayne encourages Mash to give it his all in the divine visionary exam and Macaron plans to resume his mission later. As the Divine Visionary Exam begins, Orter runs into Mash and Mash promises to take on Orter eventually. Mash enters the arena and receives ridicule from the crowd because of his lack of magic powers. The episode closes with the exam beginning as the first trial starts.
