Following an initial announcement that a second season of the hit monster anime is planned, the production team of Kaiju No. 8 has confirmed that the second season will air in 2025. This announcement came on August 5, a significant date for the series, as it is the birthday of the main character Kafka Hibino.
The official Kaiju No. 8 promotional accounts have shared a quick teaser trailer on both YouTube and X (formerly Twitter):
In addition to the announcement of the 2025 release date, the posted teaser trailer also announced the production of a season 1 compilation movie and a special episode titled "Hoshino's Day Off." Additionally, Crunchyroll reports that a live event with the anime's Japanese voice cast will be held in June 2025, in the lead-up to the second season's release.
