Reporting on the announcement made at Anime Expo 2024, Deadline confirms that the upcoming fourth movie in the franchise, My Hero Academia: You're Next is now scheduled for release in North America.

Following the anime movie's release in Japan on August 2, 2024, You're Next will hit North American theaters on October 11, 2024, with both subtitled and dubbed versions being shown. Plot details for You're Next are still sparse at this point and the promotional material released as of this writing is mostly available in Japanese. What is known as of this writing is that the movie follows the events of the Paranormal Liberation War depicted in season 6 of the anime.

The trailer for My Hero Academia: You're Next can be viewed below. The trailer features the theme song "Homunculus" performed by Japanese musician Vaundy.

The Japanese theatrical release of You're Next corresponds to the scheduled ending of My Hero Academia's original manga run. Earlier in the summer, series creator Kōhei Horikoshi announced that he intended to end the manga with chapter 430, currently scheduled for release on August 5, 2024. There is no official word on when the anime adaptation will be ending. Season 7 of the anime finished airing in Japan in July and is now streaming on Crunchyroll.

In addition to the entire series up to the current season streaming on Crunchyroll, the first My Hero Academia movie, Two Heroes, is also available to stream on Crunchyroll. Also, previous seasons and the other tie-in movies are available in some international regions on Netflix and Hulu. Due to licensing issues, availability of My Hero Academia seasons and the movies may vary by region.

You're Next is not the only notable anime movie coming to North American theaters this fall. HIDIVE and Iconic Events previously announced a special theatrical re-release of Ninja Scroll to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original release as part of AX Cinema Nights, which will also feature showings of other anime movies including Paprika, Metropolis and Cowboy Bebop: The Movie.
