One Piece episode 1088 recap
In the previous episode, Rayleigh appears and it is revealed that he saved Hancock and the island from Blackbeard and the Navy. Rayleigh then admits that he was able to keep Blackbeard away for now but he is not able to beat him head-on at his age.
The show shifts back before Rayleigh's entrance and reveals how Hancock was saved. Blackbeard was holding Hancock at bay and negated her powers with his ability. Koby was in the middle of the standoff and Blackbeard thanked him for his actions that allowed him to defeat Whang Zhi to rule his land. Koby demanded Hancock to free his officers from petrification. Blackbeard refused to keep his hands off Hancock, as he feared her powers.
Rayleigh then enters the scene with his Haki powers on full display. As Rayleigh unsheathes his sword, Blackbeard is shocked to see the Gold Roger's right-hand man. Blackbeard agrees to leave the island but he also takes Koby with him. Later, Rayleigh and Hancock discuss the Pacifistas and how powerful they were.
The show then shifts to the Kambakka Queendom and the revolutionary army. Koala sees the newspaper and is upset at the news of King Cobra's death at the hands of Sabo. The other revolutionary still trusts Sabo and Dragon believes Sabo is innocent and will have to answer for King Cobra. Kuma is also there, and they receive a call from Sabo.
The episode then cuts to Luffy and the Straw Hats and Luffy fully believes that Sabo's allegations are false and he is worried about Vivi's disappearance. Luffy is eager to go to Marijoa to rescue her but Zoro stops him because they should not intervene yet. The crew does not like hearing that and they confront Zoro about it, but he stresses their intervention is not necessary yet.
Luffy then reminds the crew that Sabo is good and strives to help people with their freedom. He reminisces about their time as kids and he reveals his real dreams to his crew. The Straw Hats are shocked by Luffy's real dream. Luffy reveals that Ace and Sabo displayed the same reaction and that Shanks was laughing in tears in his reaction as the episode ends.
