Oshi No Ko season 2 episode 3 recap
In the previous episode, Ruby is hopeful for the next gig for their group but Kana is busy with the production of Tokyo Blade. Kana informs them that production has been put on hold for the script rewrite and that Aqua has gone on a date with Akane.
Aqua and Akane watch Smash Heaven and the experience changes Aqua's perception on stage plays. Aqua was surprised by the interactive atmosphere and impressed with the production and script.
Akane is excited about Aqua's review and they meet Raida outside, who lets them know he is also in charge of producing Smash Heaven and observes the audience leaving the theatre. Aqua asks Raida about the script and states that Abiko is not familiar with stage plays and that Goa would help since he also wrote the script for Smash Heaven.
Raida is conflicted since Abiko is opposed to Goa's contribution and Aqua decides to pay Yoriko a visit in order to mend the miscommunication between Abiko and the production. Aqua, Akana, Kana, and Melt visit Yoriko's home and they discuss the manga writing process, and Aqua intends to ask her to help the situation with Abiko.
Yoriko informs the group that Abiko has a tight schedule and then gives a rundown of the manga process with the editors. Yoriko explains how the mangaka have a love for their stories and are hesitant to veer from its core values. Yoriko tries to approach Abiko about the production issues and Abiko argues that the Sweet Today adaptation was botched and she wants to avoid the same fate for her story.
Yoriko initially informs the group that she won't be able to help Abiko since she can see her stance regarding the scripts. Aqua then hands Yoriko an envelope and requests her to give it to Abiko in hopes of changing her mind.
Later, Yoriko heads to Abiko's place to talk but finds that Abiko is behind schedule for her chapter release. Abiko fires her assistant because of creative differences and Yoriko steps in for the night to help, stressing to Abiko to take care of herself and to get another assistant. The two start to argue back and forth about their process and then have an honest conversation.
The two finish the manga chapter and Abiko apologizes for her behavior. Yoriko hands her Aqua's envelope. The envelope contained tickets for the stage-around play for Abiko in order for her to experience the play Goa had written. The episode ends with Abiko entering the Smash Heaven play.
