An English release of the latest My Hero Academia movie, My Hero Academia: You're Next was confirmed at this year's Anime Expo back in July. The movie's release date was announced as October 11, 2024, after an initial Japanese release on August 2. The My Hero Academia English-language social media platforms have also announced that My Hero Academia: You're Next will have a special premiere at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles on October 6 before its theatrical release across North America. American Cinematheque, who is hosting the Beyond Fest premiere, provides the following quick summary of My Hero Academia: You're Next:

"MY HERO ACADEMIA is the highly successful Japanese anime series based on the popular comics created by Kohei Horikoshi, which have sold over 100 million copies worldwide. MY HERO ACADEMIA: YOU’RE NEXT marks the fourth theatrical release for the franchise and sees Deku and the other heroes of U.A. High School facing a new threat — a mysterious figure calling himself “Dark Might” who claims to be the new Symbol of Peace."

Sony Pictures has also confirmed an October UK release:

While You're Next is a standalone film with an original story not directly adapting the original My Hero Academia manga, series creator Kōhei Horikoshi serves in an supervisory capacity to the film's production, along with providing original character designs for the movie's new characters. It was previously confirmed that My Hero Academia: You're Next would feature the theme song "Homunculus" by pop singer Vaundy, who has also provided music for other anime including Chainsaw Man and Rankings of Kings.

The original Japanese release of My Hero Academia: You're Next coincides with the end of the original manga's run. Earlier in the summer, Kōhei Horikoshi announced that he would wrap up the manga's storyline with chapter 430, which was released on August 5, 2024 after a 10-year run, just a few days after You're Next hit Japanese theaters. The English version of the My Hero Academia manga, which has translated and published all 430 chapters is available via Viz Media.

An end date for the My Hero Academia anime adaptation has not been announced as of this writing. The seventh and most recent season of anime began with about 100 chapters of the manga to adapt, so it's likely it will be a while yet before the anime adaptation reaches its conclusion. Fans interesting in streaming My Hero Academia can do so on Crunchyroll, as well as Hulu and Netflix depending on international region. However, only Crunchyroll includes the most recent seasons.
