And though the month is ending, it doesn't mean that Netflix doesn't have even more anime titles in store!

In September 2024, we will certainly feel an array of complex emotions, as the anime Netflix is gearing up to release ranges from super heartbreaking titles that will tug at your heartstrings to titles that will have you seated at the edge of your seats.

Blue Giant

Release Date: September 1

The music industry is a tough one because the moment you think that you have enough talent to make it big, someone else comes along and rakes it from right under you. Nevertheless, so long as you stay persistent and keep polishing your talent, you'll make it to the top in no time.

This is Dai Miyamoto's reality.

Dai aims to be one of the best saxophonists that has ever lived. His journey, however, is far from easy since he has a lot to learn not just about the business but about himself, too. Fortunately, he's like a sponge, waiting to soak up anything and everything the industry has to teach him. It's only a matter of time before he makes it big.

"Dai Miyamoto's life is turned upside down the day he discovers jazz. A former high school basketball player, Dai picks up a saxophone and begins practicing day and night, determined to become one of the greatest of all time. He leaves his sleepy hometown for the bustling nightclubs of Tokyo, but soon finds the life of a professional musician is not for the faint of heart. His passion eventually wins over the cocky but talented pianist Yukinori, and after Dai convinces his friend Shunji to learn the drums, they launch a new jazz trio whose rough sound contains a raw energy that quickly wins attention from local audiences. But what does it take to truly be great?"

Grave of the Fireflies

Release Date: September 16

Grave of the Fireflies is set during a time when war has left a country on its last legs. Inspired by real events, this film shows how, in war and violence, there are truly no victors and that the people who suffer the most are the innocent people who have done nothing more than be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Be it children or adults who simply want a better life, everyone is affected by senseless actions that leave the world in a terrible state. The only way to change this is to press on no matter how grim and gloomy the situation may be. But, as always, this is much easier said than done.

Here's the official synopsis for Grave of the Fireflies (via Netflix):

"Orphans Seita and Setsuko fight for survival in post-World War II Japan. But society is harsh, and they come to the somber conclusion that they can neither escape the hardships of war nor find enough food to survive. Named the Best Animated Feature at the 1994 Chicago International Children's Film Festival, this film proves that not all anime tales are pixie-dust fantasies or brutal sci-fi standoffs."
