Following the announcement earlier this summer that Crunchyroll will begin streaming the anime adaptation of Yakuza Fiancé in October 2024, the streaming service has shared the first trailer for the upcoming anime. The original manga is known in Japanese under the title Raise wa Tanin ga Ii, used as a subtitle in the English version published by Seven Seas Entertainment.

Originally posted to the anime production team's official Youtube channel, the first trailer for the Yakuza Fiancé anime can be viewed here:

Based on the original manga series by Asuka Konishi, the Yakuza Fiancé anime is produced by Studio DEEN, the animation studio that also produced the original Urusei Yatsura anime adaptation, KonoSuba and the Sailor Moon Cosmos movie. Crunchyroll's announcement also names Toshifumi Kawase (Tenjho Tenge, Zeta Gundam) as the series director, with character designs from Itsuko Takeda and a musical score provided by a collaboration of Hiroaki Tsutsumi and Masato Suzuki, with a closing theme titled "Nani Wararotonnen." At the time of this writing, there is no word on whether the Yakuza Fiancé anime will receive a dub in English or any other non-Japanese language.

Crunchyroll has provided the following synopsis of Yakuza Fiancé:

"Somei Renji is Somei Yoshino’s grandfather and leader of the “Somei Group”, the Kansai region’s biggest yakuza group. When he arranges for her to be married to Miyama Kirishima, Yoshino has to move to “Miyama Clan” estate, the Kanto region’s biggest yakuza group. Kirishima warmly welcomes Yoshino and is such a pleasant, personable, and nice young man that nobody would suspect that he comes from a yakuza family. This puts Yoshino at ease even though she was initially feeling insecure in this unfamiliar place.

But then, a certain event leads to Yoshino witnessing the real Kirishima."
