Mashle: Magic and Muscles season 2 premiered in January 2024 with its fifth episode of the season airing this weekend. The divine visionary exam has begun as Mash and his friends aim to pass the second round.

In the previous episode, Mash and company navigate through the first round of the divine visonary exam and are able to pass the test. The next episode will kickstart the second round of the exam as the participants aim to destroy the crystals of the other teams. The episode will highlight Finn as he has the only crystal remaining for his group and he attempts to pass the second round.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles season 2 episode 5 is titled "Finn Ames and the Friend" and is scheduled to be released on Saturday, February 03, 2024, at 11:30 pm Japanese Standard Time (JST) and will be simulcast on Crunchyroll in the United States. Mashle: Magic and Muscles season 2 episode 4 recap

In the previous episode, Mash and his group start the divine visionary exams as the first round begins. The proctor explains the rules for Deadervant's haunt and the participants are transported to the testing location. They are tasked with finding a key within a balloon.

One of the contestants is immediately eliminated as the Deadervants are revealed to be immune to magic. Mash punches one of the Deadervants in the stomach, which shocks the audience, but the Deadervants are phantoms that have healing powers. The Deadervant chases Mash, and Max uses his resizing magic to help Mash escape the monster. The resizing magic allows Max to shrink or enlarge objects. The two form an alliance and spot a key near one of the Deadervants. They head over to the balloon, and as Mash touches the contraption, the horn blows and the Deadervant comes chasing the two contestants.

The two hatch a plan to use resizing magic, and Mash utilizes breakdancing to inflate the balloon enough to pop and grab the key. Mash and Max retreat and the show covers the rest of the contestants and their ordeal in recovering a key.

Most of the other participants grab a key except for Finn and Max. Dot stumbles upon Finn offers his assistance to recover a key and Mash offers his key to Max. Max assures that he can get another one and suggests Mash keep it to advance the round. As Mash departs, an Orca member named Carpaccio Luo-Yang confronts Max, and the two clash.

The other participants return from the exam, and Mash learns that his friends have passed. Max walks out of the door but has been heavily damaged by Carpaccio who walks out behind him. Luo-Yang beats Max, and Mash steps in to stop him. Luo-Yang attempts to throw a drink towards Mash, but Mash uses the drink and prepares his protein shake with it.

The proctor then announces the second round which is titled "The Life Crystal". The nine participants are broken into three groups and are tasked with protecting their crystals while destroying the other group's crystals. Mash is grouped with Finn and Dot, and the participants are transported to different locations on the map at the end of the episode.
