As an update to Crunchyroll's previous announcement of the relese of Dragon Ball DAIMA's English dub: the first episode of the latest entry in the iconic Dragon Ball franchise is now streaming in English. The English dub of Dragon Ball DAIMA originally debuted with a special theatrical airing of the first three episodes in November 2024, after premiering in Japan in October. Crunchyroll initially announced the English cast list when the English release date announced. The most significant announcement was the return of Stephanie Nadolny as Mini Goku — the original voice of Mini Goku back when Funimation (since merged into Crunchyroll) took over the license to the series. DAIMA marks Nadolny's return to the franchise after 14 years.

Other confirmed members of the English cast include:

• Mini Vegeta voiced by Paul Castro Jr.

• Mini Piccolo voiced by Nasim Benelkour

• Glorio voiced by Aaron Dismuke

40 years of Dragon Ball

Dragon Ball DAIMA's original Japanese premiere in the fall of 2024 coincides with the 40th anniversary of the debut of the original Dragon Ball manga. DAIMA's embracing and celebrating the series's history helped it rank as one of Anime Away's top anime debuts of 2024. Although series cretor Akira Toriyama passed away in March 2024, he was deeply involved with the production of DAIMA, providing the story and character designs. Notably, was involved in a primarily advisory capacity for Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT.

Set in the time period between the end of Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, the plot of Dragon Ball DAIMA is a direct consequence of Dragon Ball Z's Majin Buu story arc, with the villains of DAIMA looking to avenge the villains of the Majin Buu arc.

Crunchyroll provides the following summary for the series:

"Goku and company were living peaceful lives when they suddenly turned small due to a conspiracy! When they discover that the reason for this may lie in a world known as the "Demon Realm", a mysterious young Majin named Glorio appears before them."

In addition to streaming on Crunchyroll, Dragon Ball DAIMA is also streaming on Netflix and Hulu. However, as of this writing, the English dub of the series is exclusive to Crunchyroll. Whether the English dub will be available on other streaming services is not yet known, but we'll be following the series to provide any updates if and when that changes.

As always, stay tuned to Anime Away for all the latest news about new anime series and premiering dubs, especially now that the Winter 2025 anime season is in full gear!
