Although the fall 2024 anime season is right around the corner, recent anime announcements are also giving us a clearer picture of what's ahead for winter 2025 and beyond. Among these announcements for winter 2025 is office romance I Have a Crush at Work. The production team's official website and social media profiles have shared the upcoming anime's first trailer:
The announcement confirms a January 2025 release in Japan. As of this writing, an international streaming release has not yet been confirmed. Additionally, the anime's cast and crew have been revealed. I Have a Crush at Work is produced by anime studio Blade (The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody, Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero), directed by Naoko Takeichi, written by Masahiro Yokotani and featuring character designs by Mina Osawa.
Cast and Plot
The cast of I Have a Crush at Work announced so far includes:
• Seiichiro Yamashita as Masugu Tateishi
• Yume Miyamoto as Yui Mitsuya
• Shizuka Ito as Shizuno Hayakawa
• Reio Tsuchida as Keisuke Somei
• Yo Taichi as Maria Morizono
The original I Have a Crush at Work manga by Akamaru Enomoto ran from 2019-2023 and was published by Kodansha. The American subsidiary Kodansha USA publishes the English version of the manga and describes it as follows:
"Yui Mitsuya and Masugu Tateishi aren’t just any coworkers—they totally have the hots for each other. His helpful yet humble attitude makes her giddy, and her cuteness leaves him grinning like a fool. Problem is, they’re trying to keep their new relationship under wraps to avoid making things awkward at work. But seeing how they can’t keep their hands off each other, they run the risk of spilling their little secret with each passing day at the office."Kodasha USA
In addition to I Have a Crush at Work debuting in January 2025, there are plenty of other announced anime debuts in winter 2025 to look forward to. Crunchyroll has previously announced its acquisition of Honey Lemon Soda for the winter 2025 season, along with several other anime series currently slated for fall 2024. Additionally, official Kaiju No. 8 accounts on social media have confirmed that a second season of the monster anime is in production and scheduled for 2025. Crunchyroll has confirmed that both Honey Lemon Soda and the second season of Kaiju No. 8 will stream on Crunchyroll when they debut in 2025.
In the meantime, there are several major fall 2024 anime debuts to look forward to. Dragon Ball DAIMA, the next chapter in the Dragon Ball franchise debuts in Japan on October 8, Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance hits Netflix October 17, and Middle-earth feature-length anime adaptation The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim comes to US theaters December 13 and international theaters December 11.
